Guys, this is the roster for the NLCS. The offense remains the same, as does the rotation. The bullpen, which had been effective, at best, now includes Volquez and Marmol.

I had talked about Volquez’s struggles when he came on board with the Dodgers. Meanwhile, Carlos Marmol has struggled both with the Cubs and Dodgers. While with the Cubs, Marmol pitched 74 innings in 2011 and posted a 4.01 ERA and a 3.54 FIP. In 2012, Marmol pitched 55 innings and had a slightly better ERA, 3.42. However, his FIP jumped significantly to 3.98.

Considering how well Capuano pitched in Game 3 – three shutout innings after Ryu’s implosion – it makes one wonder why he is not on the roster.

Also not on the roster is Paco Rodriguez. So that leaves only one lefty in the bullpen, J.P. Howell. I’m really hoping this pays off because having a practically all righty bullpen is putting a lot of faith in the righties that have struggled this season and in the playoffs.

Greinke takes the mound tonight. Game time is at 5:37 and on TBS.
